Matt, our Inclusion Support Worker (sport) specialises in working with pupils of all ages with physical impairments.
He can come into any mainstream school at their request, to offer advice to staff on how to include pupils with physical impairments in P.E.
He can observe lessons and offer advice on strategies to enhance inclusion, or he will take lessons and demonstrate to staff how inclusion can be accomplished.
He also runs hydrotherapy sessions for Primary and Secondary aged pupils at Claremont School which pupils can access with a referral from their physiotherapist.
Inclusive P.E. sessions are held at Claremont School once a week which, as well as supporting the physical side of the pupil, encourages their independence skills.
As part of the Claremont Outreach service, we also run Manual Handling training and can offer manual handling advice within your school setting.
