Welcome back to Term 5!
I hope you had a lovely Easter break and enjoyed all the sunshine.
Our theme this term continues to be The Zoo.
Our main story this term will be a sensory story called A Trip to The Zoo.
Students will be going on a trip to the zoo and exploring different stimuli to represent different animals they would encounter at a Zoo.
We will also be doing some sensory science to Dolores contrasting habitats and to explore our RSE focus of life cycles.
This term we will be doing weekly forest school sessions in our outdoor area. We will be looking for signs of spring appearing and hopefully find some caterpillars and butterflies.
We are also hoping to start patio play again, where we go and play with the Henleaze Years children once a week. Permission letters will be sent home before this begins.
P1 swim days will now be on a Monday.
Please keep sending in their swim kit. Please can you include swimming costume/shorts, swim nappies/pants and 2 large towels so we can use one for keeping your child warm and one to dry them.
Please use the home-school diary or email me with any questions and updates. If you need to speak to me for any reason, please phone the school office.
If your child is going to be absent for any reason, we really appreciate an early morning phone call to the office and a message left on the answering machine as this greatly helps us plan our staffing. Thank you.
Reminder of what's needed in school
- Change of clothes kept in school- useful for any messy days.
- A supply of pads (nappies) and wet wipes and creams if needed (it will be written in your diary as and when we are running low)
- Snacks and squash if your child needs these
- Dress appropriately for the weather as we do outdoor learning
I hope you are enjoying seeing all the observations we have been putting on Earwig of the fantastic learning your child has been doing.
Earwig now has an extra feature where you can send us photos, comments or videos of what your child has been doing at home!
We love seeing what your child gets up to at home so if you could start by sending us in any Easter fun you had during the break, I am sure your child would love to then share it with us and their friends.
