We are so pleased to be back at school and are looking forward to having lots of fun with your child and settling them back into all the familiar routines of school.
Thank you to all those parents who have already returned the student passport form filled in. It is really useful for us to ensure the transition back to school goes smoothly and all the information we have is up to date. We hope that you have found the last week of school straightforward and if you have any questions please do not hesitate to give us a call at school.
Here are a few updates for you all
This term we will be following a recovery curriculum which will be in place to support pupils in settling back into school. Additionally, we will be assessing pupil’s learning to see if there have been any changes over the lockdown period. We will be responding to your child’s specific needs and will introduce the old curriculum and format when your child is ready.
As you are aware for the first 5 weeks of Term 1 Claremont will only be open on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. On Wednesday we will have enhanced cleaning of each site.
On Wednesday we will call you to have a brief catch up and see how you are doing. We will also be sending home weekly packs of activities for those of you who requested this in our recent phone calls.
Some of you have asked about the car park arrangements and I hope you understand that the closure of the car park will remain until further notice so that we can maintain social distancing at pick up and drop off times. This is constantly under review.
Tapestry has been a great way of sharing information between home and school over the last couple years and we have loved seeing what your child has been doing at home in all the photos and videos you have sent us. Unfortunately, though it is not suitable for use as children get older. Therefore, over the next couple months we will be moving over to ‘Earwig’ a similar online learning journey that will then be able to be used throughout your child’s time at Claremont. I will be writing to you soon explaining about the closure of tapestry and how you can download and keep your child’s learning diary before our contract runs out.
Our therapists are starting to come back into school but this won’t be like it was in March. We will continue to communicate with them through email and video calls where possible and will have some pre-arranged visits.
