Welcome back, I hope you enjoyed the summer holidays! I’m looking forward to meeting parents soon. A reminder that the open afternoon is taking place on the 24th September from 2.15pm.

Term 1 Theme

 This term our theme is seasons. We’re reading The Snowflake, Pumpkin Soup and The Little Red Hen. We will use these to develop our listening, reading and comprehension skills.

In maths we will be learning about shape and number through playing in the sand and water.  We’ll be learning about hot and cold and seasonal changes. In art we’ll be collecting leaves to make collages, and making prints using different materials.

In our PE lessons we will be doing Rugby with the Bristol Bears who will be coming into school to run inclusive, fun sessions every week. We also have PE in the hall on Tuesday mornings where we work on our mobility by climbing, balancing and jumping.

 

Swimming

Swimming sessions will remain on Wednesday. Please supply suitable pads for the water.

 

Home-school contact

Please use the home-school diary or email with any questions and updates. If you need to speak to us for any reason please phone the school office on 0117 3533622 Henleaze campus.

If your child is going to be absent for any reason we really appreciate an early morning phone call to the office by 8.30am and a message left on the answering machine, as this greatly helps us plan our staffing. Thank you.

 

Reminder of what’s needed in school

• Change of clothes kept in school, useful for any messy days.
• A supply of pads (nappies) , wet wipes and creams if needed. (We will write in your diary if these are running low.)
• Snacks and squash if your child needs these.
• Clothes that are appropriate for the weather, especially during outdoor learning sessions.

We will be continuing to add photos and comments about what your child gets up to at school If you have any access issues do let us know. If you do something exciting outside of school we’d love you to share it with us here.
