Happy New Year! I hope you all had a lovely break with your families.

Term 3 Theme

This term we begin a new topic about the Romans. We will learn about what they wore and what they ate and do some Roman themed art and craft to make a shield.

In English we are going to be working on our communication through some fun sensory based activities and using fact files to find information we need. 

In Maths we will continue to develop our understanding of numbers and exploring the different ways we can make a number.

In our PE lessons we will be doing dance with the Bristol Bears. We will also continue our own PE sessions in the hall and we will start weekly swimming sessions on Friday afternoons. 

We have been working to organise a range of off site activities for the students. This term we will be revisiting Supersense which is a giant sensory room at Imperial Sports Ground on Tuesday afternoons. 

RSE  

In our RSE our topic is My Body. We will be exploring what we know about the different parts of our bodies and comparing male and female bodies. We will learn anatomically correct names for our body parts. We will also be learning about public and private places and what it is  acceptable to wear and do in these spaces.

If your child is going to be absent for any reason we really appreciate an early morning phone call to the office by 8.30am and a message left on the answering machine, as this greatly helps us plan our staffing. Thank you.

Reminder of what’s needed in school

• Change of clothes kept in school, useful for any messy days.
• A supply of pads (nappies), wet wipes and creams if needed. (We will write in your diary if these are running low.)
• Snacks and squash if your child needs these.
• Clothes that are appropriate for the weather, especially during outdoor learning sessions.
