Welcome back to Term 4!

Term 4 Theme

This term we are starting a new topic called Jungle Life. We are going to be looking at the different animals we might find in the jungle and learning the Makaton signs for them. Our main text will be Rumble in the Jungle where the jungle animals get up to some mischief. We have already had one animal encounter with Noah’s Ark and there is a second one scheduled before the Easter holiday.

In maths we are focusing on number and measures. We will continue to practise our adding and subtracting as well as exploring height.

In our PE lessons we will be doing dodgeball with the Bristol Bears who will be coming into school to run inclusive, fun sessions every week. We will also continue our own PE sessions in the hall and our weekly trips to Super Sense on a Tuesday.

RSE

In our RSE lessons our topic is Life Cycles.  We will be using animals such as butterflies to learn about the process of a Life Cycle.

Swimming

We are hoping to start swimming this term at Henbury Leisure Centre. This is most likely to take place on a Friday afternoon. There are still a few details to complete but I will send a letter with all of the information you need once all of the arrangements have been made.

Home-school contact

Please use the home-school diary or email either of us with any questions and updates. If you need to speak to us for any reason please phone the school office on 01173 533622 Henleaze campus

If your child is going to be absent for any reason we really appreciate an early morning phone call to the office by 8.30am and a message left on the answering machine, as this greatly helps us plan our staffing. Thank you.
