Happy New Year to you all. We hope you've had a lovely Christmas break and we are looking forward to a new year and term.

Term 3 Theme

For this next term we will be starting our new theme: ‘Fairy Tales’. This will give the children lots of opportunities for imagination, play and stories, songs and rhymes. Our themed stories this term are, Goldilocks and the three Bears, Three Little pigs,  and Jack and the Beanstalk.

We will also still be encouraging the children to be as independent as possible in free flow play. These are  imaginative play, messy play, sand and water. These areas get changed regularly with lots of real life experiences for the children to explore. Exploring our physical area is very popular but not forgetting opportunities for a lot of outside play too, so please can you send warm clothes and coats etc into school please.

This term we will be also celebrating Diwali and Valentines Day. We will be inviting parents to join us for a valentines session date to be confirmed.

Swimming

Your child’s swimming sessions will continue to be on Mondays or Wednesdays, to be confirmed. Please send in their swimming kit at the start of the week. Swimming kits should include - swimming costume or swimming shorts, swim nappy, tegaderm (if required), 2 towels and shower gel.

Patio play will be on Tuesday morning, joining Henleaze infant school playtime with our new friends.

Home-school contact

Please use the home-school diary or email either of us with any questions you may have or information you want to share. If you need to speak to us for any reason please phone the school office on 0117 3533622 (Henleaze Campus).

If your child is going to be absent, we really appreciate an early morning phone call to the office by 8.30am, and a message left on the answering machine, as this greatly helps us plan our staffing. Thank you.

Reminder of what’s needed in school

  • A supply of pads (nappies), wet wipes and creams if needed. We will write in your diary if these are running low.

  • If you have signed up to take home reading books, book changing day will be on Mondays. Please send in their book, reading record and bookbag on this day.
