Claremont Special

Welcome back to Term 4

We hope you enjoyed the holiday and had some fun together. We are very excited to start the new term which will be full of lots of different activities.

We will be starting a new theme of ‘Green fingers’ this term.

We will be spending more time outside, using sensory stories, bucket time, cooking sessions, sensory exploration and experiences which will give us an opportunity to use our senses and immerse ourselves into the theme.

We will also experience and celebrate different cultures and festivals from around the world such as Easter, Ramadan and St Patrick's Day.

We are continuing to have weekly Bristol Bears PE, Music Therapy, Hydrotherapy and every other week rebound sessions.

Our RSE focus this term will be

We will be looking at animal life cycles as well as human life cycles, babies and plants.

Hydrotherapy and rebound

Hydrotherapy will be happening weekly on a Friday morning. Please can you send children in with their swim kits, 2 towels, tegaderm and any other extras if needed. We are waiting for rebound therapy timings to be confirmed but will send out more information soon.

Home-school contact

Please use the home-school diary or email with any questions and updates. If you need to speak to us for any reason please phone the school office on 01173533622 (Henleaze campus). If your child is going to be absent for any reason we really appreciate an early morning phone call to the office by 8.30am and a message left on the answering machine, as this greatly helps us plan our staffing.

Reminder of what’s needed in school

  • Change of clothes kept in school, useful for any messy days.
  • A supply of pads (nappies) , wet wipes and creams if needed. (We will write in your diary if these are running low.)
  • Snacks and squash if your child needs these.
  • Clothes that are appropriate for the weather, especially during outdoor learning sessions.

We will be continuing to add photos and comments about what your child gets up to at school. If you have any access issues do let us know. We would love to see what your child has been getting up to over the holidays if you could send us some photos!
