Claremont Special

P5

 Welcome back to Term 6!

A big welcome back to everyone in P5 for our final term before the summer holidays.

Term 6

Our theme this term is ‘Outside Fun!

We have a park trip planned for the first Friday of term to gather inspiration and photos for writing our own poems titled ‘If I Should Have a Garden’.

We will also be participating in Claremont's Commonwealth Sports Week, with a focus on different sports daily and awards at the end of the week.

Maths /English

Students will be working on comprehension skills, story sequencing and poetry.

We will also be focusing on a deeper knowledge of numbers to 10, sorting and understanding the world around us.

This term we are continuing with our next set of level 2 sounds M, D, G, O, C, K using our twinkl phonics scheme.

Bucket time

We are also working on our attention listening skills in bucket time.

RSE

Our RSE topic is keeping safe and looking after myself.

We will be discussing the concept of safety, such as people we trust, appropriate touch and safe spaces.

This will include learning that each person’s body belongs to them, and the differences between appropriate and inappropriate or unsafe physical contact.

Home-school contact

Please use the home-school diary or email us with any questions and updates. If you need to speak to either of us for any reason, please phone the school office.

If your child is going to be absent for any reason, we really appreciate an early morning phone call to the office and a message left on the answering machine as this greatly helps us plan our staffing.

Earwig

We hope you are enjoying seeing all the observations we have been putting on Earwig of the learning your child has been doing.

If you are still not receiving notifications, then please let us know ASAP. Earwig now has an extra feature where you can send us photos, comments, or videos of what your child has been doing at home! We love seeing what your child gets up to at home so if you could start by sending us in any half term fun you had during the break, I am sure your child would love to then share it with us and their friends.
