Welcome back to a new school year and Term 1!

We hope you have all had a lovely summer holiday and are ready for the start of an exciting Autumn term!  If you did something fun then we would love to see your photos, so please upload and share with us on Earwig.

We are beginning our new school year in a new classroom and some new friends starting very soon

Term 1 Theme

For the first 3 weeks of term we will be working on the theme ‘All about Me’. This will give the children lots of opportunities to learn about each other through songs, games and sensory exploration. We will also be encouraging lots of independent play and allowing the children time to explore a range of different stimuli. During these sessions we will do observations so we can learn what the children enjoy and what makes them happy!

We will then be moving on to the theme ‘Space.’  Our focus book for this theme is ‘What ever next'. We will be introducing songs, games and sensory activities using elements from this story.  If your child has a favourite toy we would love to hear about it!

Swimming

Your child’s swimming sessions will be on a Monday morning. Please send in their swimming kit at the start of the week. Swimming kits should include - swimming costume or swimming shorts, swim nappy, tegaderm (if required), 2 towels and shower gel.

Home-school contact

Please use the home-school diary or email either of us with any questions you may have or information you want to share. If you need to speak to us for any reason please phone the school office on 0117 3533622 (Henleaze Campus).

If your child is going to be absent, we really appreciate an early morning phone call to the office by 8.30am, and a message left on the answering machine, as this greatly helps us plan our staffing. Thank you.

Reminder of what’s needed in school

  • Change of clothes kept in school, useful for any messy days.
  • A supply of pads (nappies), wet wipes and creams if needed. We will write in your diary if these are running low.
  • Snacks and squash if your child needs these.
  • Clothes that are appropriate for the weather, especially during outdoor learning sessions.
  • If you have signed up to take home reading books, book changing day will be on Mondays. Please send in their book, reading record and bookbag on this day.

Earwig

We will regularly upload photos and videos onto Earwig so you can see what your child has been enjoying in school.  Please add any comments or upload your own photos to share with us, we love your feedback and seeing what you do together at home!  If you have any access issues please let us know.
