Welcome back to Term 4!We hope you had a lovely half term break; we can’t believe it’s already Term 4!
This term we will be starting our new topic: ‘Green Fingers’ where we will be learning about how plants grow through stories, exploring and planting our own.
We will be looking at different stories related to this theme as well as making up our own stories using our sentence building skills through colourful semantics.
In Maths this term we will be looking at measurements through number and geometry and in Science we will be looking at plants, including the life cycle of a plant. We are also hoping to start Forest School once the weather gets better so we can get outside, explore and plant our own seeds and flowers.
Our DT topic this term will be looking at healthy eating and our RSE topic is Life Cycles.
As well as this we will be continuing with our lunch clubs with Henleaze students, Bristol Bears, School Council and our weekly SALT sessions.
Therapists working with P6
Therapists will continue to visit our class on a weekly pre-arranged basis. If you have any questions/ queries about your child you can contact the school and we will be happy to direct you to the appropriate therapist.
Hydrotherapy and rebound
Hydrotherapy will be happening weekly on a Wednesday morning.
Please can you send children in with their swim kits and equipment they need to swim.
We are continuing to use Earwig as the assessment and record platform throughout school and parental access will also continue. Earwig also has an extra feature where you can send us photos, comments or videos of what your child has been doing at home which we would love to see. If you have any questions about Earwig or viewing your child’s earwig observations then please let us know.
Home school communication
As always, please use the home-school diary or email either of us with any questions and updates. If you need to speak to us for any reason, please phone the school office on 01173533622.
If your child is going to be absent for any reason, we really appreciate an early morning phone call to the office by 8.30am and a message left on the answering machine, as this greatly helps us plan our staffing.
We also love to see a photo from home which you can email to us and we like to listen to news from home on our VOCA’s together as a group.
Reminder of what’s needed in school
- Change of clothes kept in school, useful for any messy days.
- A supply of pads (nappies), wet wipes and creams if needed. (We will write in your diary if these are running low.)
- Snacks and squash if your child needs these.
- Clothes that are appropriate for the weather, especially during outdoor learning sessions.
We are looking forward to a fun term ahead!
