Happy New Year, welcome to Term 3. It’s hard to believe it’s 2026!
We hope you enjoyed the holiday, had some fun together and managed to get some time to relax. If you have any photos you’d like to share on Earwig we’d love to see them. We have lots of interesting activities to do this term which will hopefully be fun, enjoyable and educational.
Term 3 Theme
We will be starting a new theme of ‘Invaders - Pirates’ this term. We will be using sensory/interactive stories, sensory exploration, cooking sessions, music and art to explore some different aspects of the theme.
We are continuing to have weekly Bristol Bears PE, music therapy and hopefully we will be returning to weekly hydrotherapy sessions. We will also be visiting the Royal West of England Art Gallery to take part in an artist experience.
RSE
Our RSE focus this term will be ‘Relationships’. We will be playing games in pairs and small groups to work on our sharing and turn taking skills. We will also focus on family, friends, feelings and emotions.
Swimming
Unfortunately, at the moment the pool water is still not warm enough to swim so currently the pool is closed. Hopefully the pool will get back up to temperature and weekly swimming sessions will be able to restart soon.

Please use the home-school diary or email me with any questions and updates. If you need to speak to me for any reason please phone the school office on 0117 3533622 (Henleaze campus).
If your child is going to be absent for any reason we really appreciate an early morning phone call to the office by 8.30am and a message left on the answering machine, as this greatly helps us plan our staffing. Thank you.
Reminder of what’s needed in school
- Change of clothes kept in school, useful for any messy days.
- A supply of pads (nappies) , wet wipes and creams if needed. (We will write in your diary if these are running low.)
- Snacks and squash if your child needs these.
- Clothes that are appropriate for the weather, especially during outdoor learning sessions.
Earwig
We will be adding photos and comments about what your child gets up to at school. If you have any access issues do let us know.
