P7

Welcome to Term 6. We can’t believe we are in our last term before the summer holidays! I’m sure you will agree that time has flown so quickly. I just want to thank you all for such a lovely year in P7. We hope you enjoyed the half term holiday (in the heat) and had some fun together or managed to get some time to relax. If you have any photos you’d like to share on Earwig we’d love to see them.
Term 6 Theme
For term 6 we are starting a new theme - ‘Music Festivals and Parties’. This theme lends itself nicely to sensory exploration activities, music making and enjoyment, art, cooking and dance sessions. We also have a new sensory story ‘The Big Festival Day’ to explore and engage with in different ways.

We have a visit to the Ardagh Centre this term, Bristol Bears PE and music therapy sessions too. We will be visiting the Secondary site for hydrotherapy on Tuesday mornings and this will also help with transition in preparation for our move to that site in September.
RSE
Our RSE focus this term will be “Keeping Safe” and we will also be focusing on ‘communicating in the community’.

Swimming
As mentioned above our weekly swimming sessions will take place on Tuesday mornings in the Claremont Secondary School hydrotherapy pool. Your child’s swimming kit should include - swimming costume/swimming shorts, swim nappy, tegaderm (if required), 2 towels, shower gel/soap.
Home-school contact
Please use the home-school diary or email me with any questions and updates. If you need to speak to me for any reason please phone the school office on 0117 3533622 (Henleaze campus).
If your child is going to be absent for any reason we really appreciate an early morning phone call to the office by 8.30am and a message left on the answering machine, as this greatly helps us plan our staffing. Thank you.
Reminder of what’s needed in school
- Change of clothes kept in school, useful for any messy days.
- A supply of pads (nappies) , wet wipes and creams if needed. (We will write in your diary if these are running low.)
- Snacks and squash if your child needs these.
- Clothes that are appropriate for the weather, especially during outdoor learning sessions.
Earwig
We will be adding photos and comments about what your child gets up to at school. If you have any access issues do let us know.
